Violinist

From my heart to yours. That's what performing music means to me. Unlike any other form of communication, music has the power to reach deep into our souls and speak to us in ways that words simply can't.

I have performed in concert halls from California to Italy and many places in between. A native of Berkeley, California I began playing the violin at age 5 and as a youth, I studied with Anne Crowden, performed in the Junior Bach Festival and was Concertmistress of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

I received a Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University where I studied with Nell Gotkovsky and David Dalton. While in Utah, I performed with the Ballet West Orchestra and as the violinist with the Hensel Piano Trio, we reached the finals and semifinals of the national MTNA and Fischoff Chamber Music competitions respectively. At Mills College I persued a Masters of Music where I studied with David Abel and was a member of the Mills College Contemporary Performance Ensemble under the direction of Steed Cowart. Here, I enjoyed my  collaborations with such experimental luminaries as Alvin Curran, India Cooke and Fred Frith.

While living in Italy with my family after college I performed with various ensembles including the Accademia Musicale Mediterranea Piano Trio, the Orchestra Sinfonica Art Jonica and the Orchestra da Camera Arcangelo Corelli. I currently play with the Pacific Chamber Orchestra and am the Concertmistress of the Temple Hill Symphony Orchestra.

In my experience, the connections I have made with people through music transcends cultural differences and serves as a portal to facilitate understanding and collaboration.

Music can be joyful, it can be melancholic, it can be stoic. Whatever the occasion, wherever the venue, whoever is in the audience, I bring to each performance all of my skills developed over a lifetime and let the music speak for itself.
