My name is Cybèle D’Ambrosio and I am a Musician, Educator, Advocate, Composer, and Writer. This website is where all these parts of cybele.me come together. I'm so glad you're here! 

Violinist

As a performing artist, I aim to create beauty through music that reflects the complexities of life. Whether as a soloist, a chamber musician or an orchestral violinist, I explore a range of musical styles from classical to contemporary and from Tango to Jazz.  

Educator

Learning to play the violin is a life-long journey of self-mastery, self-discipline and self-discovery. My role as a teacher is to guide and inspire violinists of all levels to develop the skills and confidence to reach their musical goals. I currently offer in-person and online violin and viola lessons to students of all ages.

Advocate
I am the proud and recent co-founder of Creative Heartbeats, a nonprofit organization that ignites personal growth and community impact by empowering individuals and families affected by congenital heart disease through creative expression and advocacy.

Composer
I enjoy exploring how music can enhance storytelling. My works include polyphonic choral arrangements, string ensemble compositions, and solo repertoire. In collaboration with the Central Works Theater Company, the musical score I wrote for their production of The Yellow Wallpaper was nominated for a Theater Bay Area Award. 

Writer

I have always been fascinated with the power of stories.  A few years ago I took a writing class online which gave me permission to look for the stories in my own life and the courage to write about them. Since then, a couple of my personal essays, The Belle of the French Quarter and The Power of Stories: Reading Watership Down, have been published in the Exponent II magazine. On October 31, 2023 I went public and created my own blog, Strings and Stories. where I document my journey to publish a children's picture book celebrating the joys of music.

This website is a place where I hope to connect with others and to explore the many ways that music, teaching, and storytelling can enrich our lives. I invite you to join me.
